National Day of Action Against WAGE THEFT
Thursday, November 18
Interfaith Worker Justice is coordinating another National Day of Action Against Wage Theft to highlight the ongoing crisis and ways that workers and communities are organizing to stop it. November 18 is one week before Thanksgiving, a time when we celebrate our plenty at feasts throughout the nation -- but workers who have had their legal wages stolen will be struggling to provide for their family feasts this season.
We are urging worker centers, labor unions and worker advocates throughout the country to organize an event on November 18, and to coordinate your action with IWJ by contacting Public Policy Director Ted Smukler (tsmukler@iwj.org). To list your action, to find an action in your area, to endorse the National Day of Action Against Wage Theft or to learn more go here. We will be sending out more information as the date approaches.

DREAM Act
Just a few days before his re-election Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid from Nevada said that he would, 'win or lose' push forward the DREAM Act.
We have been here before - you know, legislators promise us something but never follow through. To make sure Reid does follow through with his promise do the following two things right now.
Take Action - Call Your Senator 202-224-3121 (ask operator to speak to your senator)
SCRIPT - First call your own senator: "Hi, Senator Reid stated that he would be moving the DREAM Act forward for a vote in lame-duck. I was calling to urge the senator to vote yes on the DREAM Act."
Hang up and dial again: 202-224-3121 This time ask for Senator Reid from Nevada.
SCRIPT - Senator Reid's office: "Hi, I was calling to thank Senator Reid for his promise to push the DREAM Act forward for a vote. Thanks!"
Done with your calls? Ask five friends to do the same.
